His fiancee is Telli Swift and she’s a partner, mother, and businesswoman, who aims to inspire and empower others.
The 32-year-old Swift was born in Zambales, Philippines, is of black and Filipino descent, and is fluent in English, Tagalog, and Japanese. A military brat as a child, Ms. Swift started modeling at 3 and was subsequently featured in magazines and beauty pageants.
Like Wilder, Telli is divorced and has a child from her previous marriage. And she and Deontay also have a baby girl together who was born in March 2018.
So, how did they meet?
Deontay Wilder’s fiancee told The Sun, “We met at LAX airport four years ago.”
“We saw each other from a distance at check-in, then again at TSA, then he finally spoke to me while we were both going to our gates.”
“While we were talking my friend came over (and) … I completely stopped talking to him and he left.”
“Leave it to IG DMs — we got in touch with each other two weeks before my family reunion which so happened to be in Alabama where Deontay is from. The rest is history.”
The beautiful Swift is Deontay’s strongest supporter and plays an active role in his career while still maintaining a career of her own. If fact, she’s recently created the Boxing WAG Association to help raise money funds for service providers and non-profit organizations, such as Spina Bifida Association, to support children and families.
Fact: Telli Swift, Wilder’s future wife, has over 325K followers on Instagram.
In addition to her support of the champion and benevolent causes, Telli was one of the lovely ladies of WAGS Atlanta, an American reality television series that premiered on the E! cable network on January 3, 2018, and was the second spin-off of WAGS. The reality show chronicled both the professional and personal lives of several WAGS (an acronym for wives and girlfriends of high-profile sportspersons) which is set in Atlanta, Georgia.
Unfortunately for the champ’s fiancee, it lasted only 8 episodes. However, Wilder participated in one where he got on one knee and proposed.
The Proposal
In a January 2018 episode of WAGS Atlanta, Telli expressed frustration with Deontay not popping the question yet.
“We went to a car dealership and kind of was like, okay why are we really here?” Telli revealed to Kaylin. “I kind of felt like he was trying to take my mind off of getting the ring. I was cussing him out, I was crying. It was a hot mess.”
The following month, Deontay appeared on WAGS Atlanta insisting he was feeling the pressure to propose.
“I love the girl. She’s got my heart. That’s my baby, that’s my best friend,” Deontay confessed on WAGS Atlanta.
“Even though I know I got a great woman and I love her to death, I know that I could give my all to a person and still get f–ked over,” Deontay told the guys.
Deontay finally appears to have proposed and he and his fiancee seem to have wonderful years ahead.
Quality wife material, indeed.
